Ok, my third dining experience in Atlanta, and another disappointment (see my Brasserie La Coze review). The place was nowhere near as classy as I had been led to believe - I dressed in a suit, the guy at the table next to me was wearing a backward baseball cap. In fact 50% of the crowd looked like they were Varsity regulars. Oh, and despite making a reservation the matre de seated me at probably the worst table in the restaurant, a small cramped affair, which after the waiter had left some bread on, barely left room for the cutlery. I asked for another table, and was treated politely and taken to another one, which was a big improvement over the first. Food - it was ok, again nothing special. The Oysters Rockerfellar were average, and the lobster was tasty, but small. My date didn't like her New England Clam chowder, but it tasted fine to me. He entree was very bland though, almost like the Chef had never heard of seasoning. Want a great Seafood restaurant? Farallon- unfortunately it's in SF, not ATL... All in all, I wasn't that impressed, but maybe I just expected too much.
